Nova Scotia September 3, 2017

Since leaving Nova Scotia in September of last year, I counted down the months then the days then the hours until I would be back home again!  When I walked off the plane into the arms of my soul sister and my niece and then into my nephew's arms at the cottage I knew where I needed to be and it felt so right being home.

I woke this morning excited to sit on the deck and watch the sunrise as I sipped my coffee but I slept in and missed it. Breathing in that ocean air knocked me out and I knew it would.

We enjoyed breakfast and geared up, no boots nor pack for me this time, instead it was oars and kayaks.  This was another thing I was looking forward to.  I have never in my life even sat in a kayak so this was a first and I had fabulous guidance from my family.  It was a little scary for me at first as we stroked our way over the waves that were close to shore and made our way to calm open waters further out.  We stroked and stroked and stroked and then just sat there for awhile enjoying the sun, the air, and the quietness.

I learned lots and felt more comfortable and confident the more we did.  I didn't want to overdo it the first time out so we headed home. Into the afternoon when the tide was out we walked for over two hours on the beach.   Needless to say, after kayaking, beach strolling,  wine drinking and dinner, it was lights out for me.

Until tomorrow when I get to experience another day in this piece of paradise!  As my coffee cup says "Love you to the moon and back"!  Good night!

  1. I can well imagine your excitement and calm at the same time to wake up near the ocean and know you are where you are with the enjoyment of family. Love your story, knowing you are beginning a beautiful visit with family as each day will be magnificent. PS - photos are splendid!
