I couldn't wait to see if I could get that monkey off my back! My morning at work was consumed with praying I could have a good lunch time run to get my running psyche back to a healthy state again! I wanted to get on with my day and the only way I could was just to get out of the office and get that run in which I did shortly after 11:00. The sun was shining, the temperature was perfect, I wore a colorful cheerful short set, pinned my hair up, hit the pathway and it was smooth sailing the whole way! I came back to the office a different person! Although this run was short in comparison to the one where the monkey hoped on board, it nevertheless got me to a place where I needed to go. It only took 37:55 to do the trick over a distance of 6.2 km at a pace of 6:09.
My mind has started to drift off periodically back to 2001 and 2002, the years I ran a marathon. It's strange how vividly I can remember the details of each one. I wonder what will it be like this time. I don't particularly care that I am consumed with this but I can't help myself from thinking about it. Over the last couple of weeks, not a day has gone by where I did not vision myself crossing the finish line.
I have one reeaalllly loooong run left this coming weekend. It is already occuping every free moment in my mind. After that one is complete then it's time to get into taper mode. I keep looking at my schedule verifying I am doing what I am suppose to be doing.

Thank goodness a good run usually follows one of those bad ones.
